Max McCrary
Max focuses his practice in the areas of corporate, LLC, and business law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate.
In his M&A practice, Max has advised businesses and individuals during transactions across a variety of industries with transaction values ranging from thousands to hundreds of millions of dollars. Max also counsels clients on various business issues ranging from negotiation of commercial contracts to drafting loan documents and from corporate restructuring to trademark filings.
Prior to joining CowanPerry, Max worked in Charlotte, North Carolina for an international law firm, Alston & Bird LLP. During his time at Alston & Bird, Max represented private equity groups in mergers and acquisitions and assisted their portfolio companies with general corporate issues. Max moved to Roanoke in the fall of 2020 and practiced for over 2 years at another Roanoke law firm, where he continued his work on mergers and acquisitions and also advised clients on commercial contracts, solar power development, commercial real estate, and tax and environmental issues.
During law school, Max was a Lead Articles Editor on the Washington & Lee Law Review, and worked for a law firm in Lynchburg, Virginia specializing in criminal defense, personal injury, and workers compensation. Additionally, Max spent a year as a judicial extern at the Lynchburg Circuit Court for the Hon. Frank Patrick Yeatts and Hon. R. Edwin Burnette, Jr.
